PHT Corporation Announces Breakthrough in Clinical Trial Management with Enhanced StudyWorks Online Portal
Global ePRO leader's trendsetting implementation of Oracle system offers study sponsors complete 24x7 visibility into study progress including logistics
BOSTON, Mass. – January 25, 2010 – PHT Corporation continues to drive the ePRO (electronic patient reported outcome) industry forward. The company today announced an enhanced StudyWorks™ portal that offers study sponsors an unprecedented level of management and logistical control over their clinical trials. PHT is the leading provider of ePRO solutions used in more than 400 clinical trials worldwide.
StudyWorks is an online portal which provides real-time access to data collected using the PHT LogPad® System or SitePad® Tablet. Using standard and custom data summaries and reports, StudyWorks enables site personnel to manage compliance and enrollment while helping sponsors stay informed about their trials to the deepest level of detail at all times.
And, the information loads quickly, even with growing study complexity and size.
The new StudyWorks capabilities are an outgrowth of PHT’s successful undertaking to implement Oracle EBS in 2007. The Oracle system provides a significant two-pronged benefit. It gives PHT an important new method for managing its own business systems for continued international growth. And it enables PHT to offer customers an unparalleled level of control in managing virtually every aspect of even the most complex, multi-country studies in real time.
Without a StudyWorks implementation customers receive weekly updates, usually through a telephone conference with their Project Manager. If a customer has a question after business hours or the Project Manager is away, the customer typically must wait for the weekly meeting or call.
With StudyWorks, all study information is at the customer’s fingertips at all times. Study coordinators in particular cite the unique ability of PHT’s ePRO solution to track and manage patient performance, diary compliance, and even hardware shipments of eDiaries.
Tammy Ernst, MA, is Study Coordinator at investigator site IPS Research in Oklahoma City. Ms. Ernst said, “With StudyWorks we easily and quickly review data summaries any time, morning or night. We can monitor and evaluate patient symptom scores for safety. We can identify and intervene with patients who exhibit low compliance before it becomes a trend. In addition to patient safety and study compliance, the new StudyWorks capabilities go beyond traditional clinical trial management with new logistic capabilities that quickly locate our hardware. If we decide to divert LogPads or SitePads to another site, we can do so easily.”
Key StudyWorks Features include:
• New inventory reports enable sponsors to track the location of LogPads and SitePads 24x7.
• SafetyPRO Email Alerts are improved.
• Data summaries are enhanced, with standard and custom reports that are StudyWorks’ most used pages, summarizing information like subjects’ compliance in filling out diaries and progress through studies; and, trends in rescue medication use and symptoms.
Phil Lee, PHT’s President and CEO, explained, “This is about giving our customers all their information when they want it and how they want it. Our goal is to offer a complete platform for improving visibility into study progress.”
